Brief: To design an app for an international coffeehouse chain that allows their customers to order products and avoid the wait in a queue during busy hours.
Over 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed around the world every single day. The client is an up-and-coming coffee chain in Europe that wants to disrupt this market by providing a superior ordering experience for their coffee drinkers. They estimate that each of their on-the-go customers currently spends 15 minutes in their store to stand in line, order, and wait for their coffee to be prepared. They want to retain these busy users by enabling them to order their coffee through a mobile app before they even reach the store, so their coffee is ready when they arrive.
I was asked to create the UX and UI for this mobile app. My work included secondary and primary, ethnographic research, insight synthesis, customer journey mapping, wireframing and design of the user interface, as well as facilitation of app use through service innovation and promotions.
